Housekeeping Supervisor - APS Unipod Stirling Center

APS Unipod Global is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented, and highly organized Housekeeping Supervisor to lead the housekeeping operations at APS Unipod Stirling Center. The Housekeeping Supervisor will be responsible for planning, supervising, and coordinating all housekeeping activities to ensure that guest rooms, communal spaces, dining areas, offices, recreational facilities, and public areas are maintained to exceptional cleanliness and hygiene standards.

The successful candidate will lead the housekeeping team, oversee cleaning schedules, conduct quality inspections, manage housekeeping inventories, coordinate linen services, and ensure compliance with UK health, safety, and hygiene regulations. The role requires a proactive leader with strong organizational skills, a commitment to excellence, and the ability to foster a culture of cleanliness and professionalism.

Team Leadership and Staff Management
  • Supervise and motivate the housekeeping team.

  • Prepare staff duty rosters and shift schedules.

  • Conduct daily team briefings.

  • Train new employees in cleaning procedures, safety standards, and customer service.

  • Monitor employee performance and productivity.

  • Conduct performance evaluations and provide coaching where necessary.

  • Promote teamwork, accountability, and professionalism within the department.

  • Ensure adequate staffing levels during peak occupancy periods.

Quality Assurance
  • Perform daily inspections of resident rooms and public areas.

  • Ensure all cleaning tasks meet APS Unipod's quality standards.

  • Monitor cleanliness, presentation, and maintenance of furniture, fixtures, and equipment.

  • Identify areas requiring corrective action.

  • Address resident feedback regarding housekeeping services promptly.

  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service quality.

Administrative Responsibilities
  • Maintain housekeeping records and inspection reports.

  • Prepare daily and monthly operational reports.

  • Monitor departmental budgets and expenditure.

  • Maintain staff attendance records.

  • Assist with policy implementation and standard operating procedures.

  • Participate in internal quality audits.

Inventory and Housekeeping Supplies
  • Monitor stock levels of cleaning materials and consumables.

  • Prepare purchase requisitions for housekeeping supplies.

  • Coordinate with the Accounts Manager regarding procurement of cleaning equipment and consumables.

  • Ensure proper storage of cleaning chemicals and equipment.

  • Monitor usage to minimise wastage and control costs.

  • Maintain inventory records and conduct periodic stock audits.

Key Responsibilities
Housekeeping Operations
  • Supervise the daily operations of the Housekeeping Department.

  • Plan and allocate daily cleaning assignments.

  • Ensure all accommodation rooms are cleaned, sanitised, and prepared to APS Unipod standards.

  • Oversee cleaning of common areas, corridors, reception, offices, study rooms, kitchens, dining areas, gyms, lounges, and recreational spaces.

  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the property.

  • Ensure prompt turnaround of rooms during resident arrivals and departures.

  • Conduct regular inspections to ensure housekeeping standards are consistently achieved.

  • Coordinate deep-cleaning schedules for all facilities.

Health, Safety and Hygiene
  • Ensure full compliance with UK Health & Safety regulations and COSHH (Control of Substances Hazardous to Health) requirements.

  • Maintain the highest standards of hygiene throughout the Centre.

  • Ensure proper handling and storage of cleaning chemicals.

  • Conduct workplace safety inspections.

  • Ensure staff use appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

  • Report health and safety concerns immediately.

  • Support emergency preparedness and evacuation procedures.

Resident Services
  • Respond promptly and professionally to housekeeping-related requests from residents.

  • Coordinate room preparation for new arrivals.

  • Ensure special cleaning requests are completed efficiently.

  • Maintain confidentiality and respect residents' privacy.

  • Work closely with the Guest Services Team to enhance the overall resident experience.

Maintenance Coordination
  • Identify maintenance issues during routine inspections.

  • Report defects and repair requirements to the Maintenance Team.

  • Monitor completion of housekeeping-related maintenance work.

  • Assist in ensuring accommodation units remain in excellent condition.

Essential Qualifications
  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Hospitality Management, Hotel Management, Facilities Management, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in housekeeping operations, with at least 1 years in a supervisory role.

  • Experience in hotels, serviced apartments, student accommodation, hospitals, or institutional facilities.

  • Strong leadership and organisational skills.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

  • Good knowledge of housekeeping procedures and cleaning standards.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic administrative systems.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in student accommodation or hospitality operations.

  • Knowledge of COSHH regulations and health & safety compliance.

  • Housekeeping certification from a recognised hospitality institution.

  • First Aid certification is an advantage.
