In House Drivers - APS Unipod Stirling Center

APS Unipod Global is seeking responsible, courteous, and safety-conscious In-House Drivers to join the Transport & Logistics Department at APS Unipod Stirling Center. The In-House Driver will be responsible for operating APS Unipod vehicles safely and professionally while supporting student transportation, airport transfers, university shuttle services, operational logistics, procurement trips, and emergency transportation requirements.

The successful candidate will represent APS Unipod whenever interacting with students, parents, university officials, suppliers, and the public, ensuring the highest standards of professionalism, safety, and customer service.

Operational and Administrative Transport
  • Transporting official documents between APS offices when required.

  • Assisting with procurement trips.

  • Collecting supplies from vendors.

  • Delivering operational materials between departments.

  • Supporting inventory movement within the Centre.

  • Assisting management with official transportation requirements.

Vehicle Management
  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections before commencing duty.

  • Ensure vehicles remain clean, presentable, and well-maintained.

  • Monitor fuel levels and arrange refuelling.

  • Check tyre pressure, lights, brakes, fluids, and safety equipment.

  • Report mechanical issues immediately.

  • Coordinate scheduled servicing with the Maintenance Supervisor.

  • Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks.

  • Ensure vehicles comply with UK roadworthiness and safety requirements.

Customer Service
  • Greet passengers courteously.

  • Assist students, parents, and visitors with luggage.

  • Maintain a professional appearance at all times.

  • Ensure passengers enjoy a safe and comfortable journey.

  • Provide basic local information when requested.

  • Assist international students who may be unfamiliar with the local area.

  • Maintain confidentiality regarding passengers.

Key Responsibilities
Student Transportation Services
  • Airport pick-up and drop-off services.

  • Railway station transfers.

  • Bus station transfers.

  • Scheduled transportation between APS Unipod Stirling Center and the University of Stirling.

  • Transportation for newly arriving international students.

  • Assisting students with luggage during arrivals and departures.

  • Supporting students during emergency transportation requirements.

  • Providing transportation for APS-organised community events and recreational outings.

Health and Safety
  • Drive responsibly and comply with all UK road traffic laws.

  • Maintain a valid UK driving license appropriate for the vehicle operated.

  • Ensure passengers wear seatbelts.

  • Follow safe driving practices at all times.

  • Conduct risk assessments before long-distance journeys.

  • Be prepared to respond appropriately in emergencies.

  • Maintain first aid kits and emergency equipment within vehicles.

Emergency Response
  • Provide transportation during medical emergencies when authorized.

  • Support emergency evacuations if required.

  • Coordinate with emergency services when necessary.

  • Assist management during crisis situations requiring transport support.

Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain daily mileage records.

  • Record fuel consumption.

  • Prepare vehicle inspection reports.

  • Report accidents, incidents, or vehicle damage immediately.

  • Maintain transportation schedules and trip logs.

  • Submit operational reports to the Operations Manager.

Essential Qualifications
  • Valid UK Driving License appropriate for the assigned vehicle category.

  • Clean driving record with no serious traffic offences.

  • Minimum 2 years of professional driving experience.

  • Excellent knowledge of road safety regulations in the United Kingdom.

  • Good knowledge of Stirling and surrounding areas.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to assist international students with courtesy and professionalism.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in hotels, universities, educational institutions, student accommodation, or corporate transport services.

  • First Aid certification.

  • Defensive Driving certification.

  • Experience driving minibuses or passenger transport vehicles.

  • Basic vehicle maintenance knowledge.
