Compensation: £2,250 per month (Gross)

In House Electricians - APS Unipod Stirling Center
APS Unipod Global is seeking qualified, dependable, and safety-conscious Electricians to join the Engineering & Maintenance Department at APS Unipod Stirling Center. The Electrician will be responsible for the installation, inspection, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of all electrical systems within the Centre. The role encompasses residential accommodation units, offices, commercial kitchens, laundry facilities, daycare center, common areas, recreational spaces, external lighting, security systems, and other operational infrastructure.
The successful candidate will work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to ensure uninterrupted electrical services, respond promptly to electrical faults, carry out preventive maintenance, and ensure compliance with all UK electrical safety regulations.

Preventive Maintenance
Participate in the Centre's preventive maintenance program.
Conduct scheduled inspections of all electrical installations.
Test emergency lighting systems regularly.
Inspect electrical equipment for wear and potential hazards.
Replace ageing components before failures occur.
Maintain accurate maintenance schedules and service records.
Recommend improvements to increase system reliability and energy efficiency.
Emergency Repairs
Respond immediately to electrical breakdowns and emergency maintenance requests.
Restore electrical services with minimal disruption to residents and operations.
Identify root causes of recurring faults and recommend long-term corrective actions.
Assist during power failures and emergency situations.
Support business continuity during operational emergencies.
Lighting Systems
Maintain all indoor and outdoor lighting installations.
Replace faulty lamps, LED fixtures, emergency lighting units, and decorative lighting.
Ensure common areas remain well illuminated.
Assist with installation of temporary lighting for community events and special functions.
Key Responsibilities
Electrical Maintenance
Perform routine inspection, testing, maintenance, and repair of all electrical systems throughout APS Unipod Stirling Center.
Ensure uninterrupted electrical supply across all buildings and facilities.
Diagnose and rectify electrical faults efficiently.
Maintain electrical panels, switchboards, distribution boards, and circuit breakers.
Replace defective wiring, sockets, switches, lighting fixtures, and electrical components.
Carry out scheduled preventive maintenance to minimise equipment failures.
Ensure all electrical work complies with UK regulations and APS Unipod operational standards.

Identify and eliminate electrical hazards.
Conduct electrical safety inspections.
Assist during statutory inspections and electrical audits.
Maintain compliance with Health & Safety at Work legislation and electrical regulations.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain detailed maintenance records.
Record completed repairs and inspections.
Prepare daily maintenance reports.
Maintain equipment service histories.
Report recurring faults and recommend improvements.
Assist with maintenance budgeting by identifying replacement requirements.
Energy Management
Assist in monitoring electricity consumption throughout the Centre.
Recommend energy-efficient solutions.
Promote sustainable electrical practices.
Support implementation of energy-saving technologies.
Identify opportunities to reduce operational energy costs.
Essential Qualifications
NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Electrical Installation, City & Guilds qualification, or an equivalent recognised electrical qualification.
Valid UK ECS (Electrotechnical Certification Scheme) Card or equivalent certification.
Minimum 3 years of experience as a commercial or residential electrician.
Strong knowledge of electrical distribution systems, fault diagnosis, and electrical maintenance.
Ability to interpret electrical drawings and technical diagrams.
Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Good communication and teamwork abilities.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in hotels, universities, student accommodation, hospitals, or commercial facilities.
18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations (BS 7671) qualification.
Inspection and Testing Certification (City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent).
PAT Testing certification.
First Aid certification.
Knowledge of fire alarm and emergency lighting systems.
