Security Staffs - APS Unipod Stirling Center
APS Unipod Global is seeking disciplined, professional, and customer-focused Security Officers to join the Security & Safety Services Department at APS Unipod Stirling Center. Security Officers will be responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and peaceful environment throughout the Centre by protecting residents, employees, visitors, and property. In addition to traditional security responsibilities, Security Officers are expected to provide exceptional customer service, assist residents during emergencies, and work collaboratively with all operational departments.
As APS Unipod is a student-focused community, Security Officers are expected to maintain a visible, approachable, and service-oriented presence while enforcing Centre policies with fairness, professionalism, and respect.

Patrol and Surveillance
Conduct regular patrols of student accommodation blocks, reception and lobby areas, study rooms, community lounges, canteen, laundry, daycare, salon, fitness center, outdoor spaces, parking, service corridors, utility, plant rooms, emergency exits and perimeter fencing.
Patrols shall include inspections for safety hazards, suspicious behavior, fire risks, equipment malfunctions, unsecured doors and windows, unauthorized persons and vandalism or property damage.
CCTV Monitoring
Monitor CCTV surveillance systems continuously.
Observe and report suspicious activities.
Record incidents requiring further investigation.
Preserve CCTV footage when required.
Assist management and law enforcement with incident investigations.
Ensure CCTV systems remain operational.
Emergency Response
Respond promptly and professionally to emergencies, including medical emergencies, fire alarms, building evacuations, security breaches, accidents missing persons, disturbances, criminal incidents, severe weather events and utility failures and coordinate promptly with Scottish Ambulance services, police Scotland, civil defense, university emergency services, and APS Unipod management.
Key Responsibilities
Access Control and Front Office Security
Monitor all entry and exit points of APS Unipod Stirling Center.
Verify the identity of residents, visitors, contractors, and delivery personnel.
Register visitors in accordance with Centre policies.
Issue visitor passes and temporary access credentials.
Prevent unauthorised access to the premises.
Ensure all access control systems are functioning correctly.
Monitor vehicle entry into designated parking areas.
Student Safety and Welfare
Providing a visible and reassuring security presence.
Assisting students returning late at night.
Escorting residents upon request where appropriate.
Responding to welfare concerns.
Supporting vulnerable residents.
Assisting during mental health or wellbeing incidents by coordinating with the appropriate emergency or support services, while operating within the limits of security responsibilities.
Reporting safeguarding concerns to management.
Documentation and Reporting
Maintain accurate records including daily occurrence reports, visitor logs, incident reports, patrol records, CCTV observations, fire alarm activations, maintenance requests, lost property registers, vehicle access records.
Submit reports promptly to the security supervisor and operations manager.
Incident Management
Respond appropriately to noise complaints, anti-social behavior, property damage, theft, lost items, disputes, trespassing, alcohol or substance related incidents, unauthorized gathering, police violations.
Prepare accurate incident reports for management review.
Fire Safety
Conducting fire patrols.
Checking emergency exits.
Ensuring fire escape routes remain unobstructed.
Monitoring fire alarm systems.
Assisting during fire drills.
Supporting evacuation procedures.
Reporting fire safety deficiencies.
Customer Service
Welcome residents and visitors courteously.
Provide directions and assistance.
Support students arriving from overseas.
Help with luggage during emergencies or special situations when appropriate.
Assist elderly visitors and families.
Promote a safe and friendly atmosphere.
Event Security
Crowd management.
Access control.
Emergency preparedness.
Public safety.
Traffic coordination.
Lost and Found Management
Receive lost property.
Record found items.
Secure valuable belongings.
Coordinate return of items to rightful owners.
Maintain accurate documentation.
Key Control
Manage master keys and restricted access keys.
Maintain key issue records.
Secure sensitive access points.
Report lost keys immediately.
Essential Qualifications
Secondary school education or equivalent.
Valid SIA Door Supervisor or Security Guard License (or eligibility to obtain one before commencement of employment).
Good spoken and written English.
Strong observation and communication skills.
Ability to remain calm under pressure.
Physically fit and capable of standing or patrolling for extended periods.
Professional appearance and excellent interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of experience in security, hospitality, residential accommodation, universities, hotels, or commercial facilities.
First Aid at Work certification.
Fire Marshal training.
CCTV Operator qualification.
Conflict Management training.
Customer service experience.
Experience working with multicultural communities.
